Generally speaking, the park management people preferred that visitors enter park with their shuttle buses which came by pickup points every few minutes. We did that when Chuck and I decided to do the Crater Lake Circuit. The walk consisted of a boardwalk over marshland (which was part of the Overland Track), then a climb up to Crater Lake past a waterfall, then a loop around with a view of several small lakes to finally return to the shuttle bus pickup point.
