The Ship That Never Was

This company has supposedly the longest theatrical run of any play in Australia with The Ship That Never Was. It is a reenactment of a true story of how a few prisoners managed to steal the last ship built at Sarah Island. When a few of them were apprehended a few years later, a clever lawyer got them off on a charge of piracy by arguing that the ship had never been registered so that instead they should be just charged with stealing building materials.

The two person cast humorously tell the story while constructing the ship on stage.

The cast happily talk to members of the audience afterwards.
