Melbourne - Philip Island and Penguin Parade

We decided to take about a 90 minute drive to Philip Island and Penguin Parade to see the world's smallest penguins, the Little Penguins, return from their (often multi-day) fishing trips to the beach where their nests are hidden. The beaches were set up with bleachers (and the prepared had blankets to keep warm) for the penguin watchers. Photographs were forbidden so as not to upset the little characters. They started coming in at about 9PM. We watched them come in for an hour or so, then we drove home through the road construction to get back to Melbourne about 12:30 AM. We let ourselves in without disturbing Missy and Myles too much (hopefully).
